The Power of Falsehood
The Spirit of Witchcraft
Prophetic Word August 12, 2020

A few days ago God gave me a dream where He showed me a woman. She had the face of ‘Samantha’ from the old TV show “Bewitched.” Then some words came to mind that I was to refer to “Who bewitched you?” Her clothing was that of Jeannie in “I Dream of Jeannie” another old show that used to be on television. The premise of the show what that Jeannie was an actual genie that could grant wishes. On this woman was a turban that resembled a turban (crown) of one of the magi that we see depicted at Christmas time.  I looked at her as she was standing in a kitchen. I had a friend of mine sitting beside me at a large table in a conference room.  And as I looked at the ‘being in the kitchen’ she suddenly disappeared. Just like that she vanished.  She was there one minute and the next minute she was gone. I was so surprised because I thought “where did she go?”  I asked my friend in amazement ‘did you see that?” I was asking if she seen her there one minute and gone the next. She replied “No I didn’t.”

What It Means

What I was being shown was the ‘power of falsehood.” This power could “bewitch by words.” The power of falsehood parallels itself with God’s Holy Spirit (for comparison purposes.) The word bewitch has its roots in the word ‘to fascinate, to observe in fascination. Synonyms for bewitching are alluring, appealing, attractive, captivating, charismatic, charming, elfin, enchanting, engaging, entrancing, fascinating, fetching, glamorous (also glamourous), luring, magnetic, seductive.

In the television show “Bewitched” the witch in the show had the ability to just twitch her nose and whatever she wanted would happen instantly.  Her name in the show was Samantha. Samantha means “God hears or God heard”.  So what God was actually showing me is that it was claiming to be God and that He and he has heard my prayers. However since this was the power of falsehood, God was actually showing me that this is what the power of falsehood can do and what it looks like. In the show “I Dream of Jeannie” the genie’s name was Jeannie. Jeannie means ‘filled with mercy.’ Since a genie is from the spirit of falsehood, it was telling me that it too is filled with mercy just like God. The friend sitting beside me has the name of Emily. Emily (Amelia) actually means ‘work of God.’ Therefore the work of God didn’t see the works created by the power of falsehood. Though people are amazed at it, God does not see it nor acknowledge it.

The power of falsehood constantly looks for attention. Those who have it’s power constantly look for someone to listen to it and them in order to draw the person into rebellion. It needs human validation rather than God’s certification of approval. It wants you to have instant riches, instant fame, instant results, and instant glory so that it can be glorious in your life. It uses words, strictly speaking, it uses God’s words against Him in order to gain power over you.   It is then that sin is able to rule over you. It uses manmade interpretations based on filters of falsehood. It is through the use of ‘private interpretation’ that one is drawn away from the simple message of Jesus Christ. This spirit wants you to believe that it comes from God so that it can draw you away from God. It has the power to answer worldly prayers in order to be glorified and will steal the goodness of God by taking the glory that rightfully belongs to Him.

In Galatians 3:1 bewitch is an exaggerated metaphor. It stood for the power that ignites magic. Therefore to bewitch someone by using words can only be done through and by the ‘power of falsehood.’  Therefore a magi is a person who through the use of words can conjure up or heat up your own personal desires so that you will be controlled or affected by or as if by a magic spell. The dangerous feature is that the Galatians had willingly yielded to these magicians and their influence without realizing to what powers of falsehood they were surrendering. The characteristic point of ‘the power of falsehood’  is that it exerts its influence without extraordinary means. It is what is called “the other gospel who masquerades itself as the Good News.” Therefore the power of falsehood has the power to display itself as the Good News or is just as good as the Good News.

Galatians 1:6I am shocked that you are turning away so soon from God, who called you to himself through the loving mercy of Christ. You are following a different way that pretends to be the Good News

The power of falsehood has the spirit of rebellion because it has the power to misdirect. This spirit has the qualities of a witch as well as a genie that operates through the wisdom of the world.  It is the spirit of the fulfilling of one’s own desires and making you believe that your miracle comes from God. Therefore those whose desires do not agree with the Word and are accompanied by God’s motives, give the power of falsehood validity and the power to reign in their lives.

Simon Magus

Simon Magus, also known as Simon the Sorcerer or Simon the Magician, was a religious figure whose confrontation with Peter is recorded in Acts 8:9–24. The act of simony, or paying for position and influence in the church, is named after Simon. Simony (/ˈsɪməni/) is the act of selling church offices and roles or sacred things. It is named after Simon Magus, who is described in the Acts of the Apostles as having offered two disciples of Jesus payment in exchange for their empowering him to impart the power of the Holy Spirit to anyone on whom he would place his hands. The term extends to other forms of trafficking for money in “spiritual things”.(source Wikipedia) It was the act of buying and selling the wisdom and power of God; a spiritual quid pro quo.

In the story of Simon the magician/sorcerer, he was baptized and followed Philip.

Acts 8:13 Even Simon believed [Philip’s message of salvation]; and after being baptized, he continued on with Philip, and as he watched the attesting signs and great miracles taking place, he was constantly amazed.

Therefore just because someone is baptized we should pay careful attention that it doesn’t mean they are baptized for the right reasons. He was the perfect example of someone that honored God with his lips, but his heart was far from Him. As we see in the rest of the story that Simon Magus followed Philip, however, it was not because he had a changed heart, but rather so that he could learn “how to preach and teach or learn the practice” of giving out God’s Word.  Obviously he was skilled in his craft, and is the evidence of those he learned from. If he learned all the right words to say and went through the motions of what he was supposed to do, then just as he paid someone to give him authority, he thought he would get the same from Philip.  He in effect could see no difference between the power of God and the power of Satan.  The greatest thing to notice however is that Simon knew how people saw him. They looked at him as a god.

Acts 8:9 Now there was a man named Simon, who previously practiced magic in the city and amazed the people of Samaria, claiming to be someone great. 10 They all paid [a great deal of] attention to him, from the least to the greatest, saying, “This man is what is called the Great Power of God!” 11 They were paying attention to him because for a long time he had mystified and dazzled them with his magic.

Simon loved the attention and made claims of his own glory. He would dazzle people with worldly wisdom and mesmerized people with his words. The power of falsehood pulsated through his veins. It was life to him. People were amazed at what a great speaker he was and the authority of which he spoke. He bewitched them with his words. His words caused a misdirection. A misdirection is a form of deception in which the performer draws the audience’s attention to one thing to distract it from another. Thus, he wanted the attention to be taken away from God by accepting the adoration of how well he could speak. He made people believe he was wise as a god, but he was just a man.

So What Do We Do?

We are entering a time where you will understand the scriptures as the disciples did. God is going to bring the baseline of how we are to see Him and we shall see and understand Him in a holy way.

God is not doing a new thing. He is revealing a new thing that we have previously not seen nor heard.

God’s word has been watered down and personal opinions regarding His Word have drowned out the voice of God to the point that many are searching for the next word while failing to seek God for themselves. The spirit of falsehood will lead men to seek out men instead of God. God, Himself is in the process of revealing who has the power of falsehood. But He is not going to reveal them as you might think. He is going to speak to each person’s conscience, personal desires, and why they want to seek after Him in the first place. He will reveal to the host of heaven and those in the earth through the means of His holy perception. He will use His Wisdom and His Understanding to process the task. God is about to release a message that is going to change how we read His Word and not change the Word. Through the message He is about to release, there will be no need that any man will need to teach you because God is going to teach you Himself. God wants you to know the power of the Truth against the power of falsehood. And when He reveals this message to you, the power of falsehood shall disappear in an instant. And you will be amazed.  You will actually be able to see where Satan has lied to you, while at the same time see the heart of God and His love for you. You will become a sign and a wonder, as one who is a true believer.

Isaiah 8:18 Here I am with the children the Lord has given me to be signs and wonders in Israel from the Lord of Armies who dwells on Mount Zion.

Those seeking a sign are unbelievers.

Matthew 12:38-39 Then some of the scribes and Pharisees answered him, saying, “Teacher, we wish to see a sign from you.” 39 But he answered them, “An evil and adulterous generation seeks for a sign, but no sign will be given to it except the sign of the prophet Jonah

But those who become a sign are a wonder to those looking on. They are a miracle in themselves. This is what God wants for all HIS people. He is going to show us which words are His and which words have been carefully manipulated. Then you will know the Truth and the Truth shall set you free.

John 8:31-32  So Jesus was saying to the Jews who had believed Him, “If you abide in My word [continually obeying My teachings and living in accordance with them, then] you are truly My disciples. 32 And you will know the truth [regarding salvation], and the truth will set you free [from the penalty of sin].”

The bottom line is that Satan doesn’t want you to know the Truth, because the Truth sets you free from the power of falsehood. No one knows the Truth by reading it alone. It is by doing it and living it that you are able to test to see if the word you believe comes from God or if it comes from Satan. It is by living it that the heart of God speaks.  For that reason we are to be not only hearers of the Word but doers of it as well.

God is about to reveal the Spirit of Witchcraft to you and the power of falsehood in you and in the corporate church. He will destroy Satan’s power of falsehood and render it useless,  so that you will be healed from all that he has done to you. And it is through this revelation, that you will see and recognize the God of your Salvation. And through that revelation, you will see the one who wears the disguise and masquerades himself as the revelator of light.
