I Will Fight For You

God has given me some insight into His heart of what He means when He says “The Lord will fight for you. You only need to be still..’ (paraphrase) We are entering into an era where God is revealing His heart in His Word, so that we can be effective in knowing Him as He is. He doesn’t want us to misunderstand Him. What God showed me was this:
When He says that He will fight for you, He is saying that Satan is about to have control over you or Satan has control over you. In other words you have been tempted according to your own desires. When Jesus gave His life and His heart for us on the cross, we were purchased back from being a slave to sin (Satan’s dominion). Therefore when Jesus said “I will fight for you. He is not saying that we do nothing, He is actually saying after you have done everything you can do, simply stand and wait for me. When God sees us waiting for Him, He sees us putting sin to death just as He did on the cross.
When He fights for you, He is actually fighting to keep you from being a slave to Satan. This of course agrees with His Will and purpose in the earth. Since He purchased you, you are His and He will fight to keep what is His. Therefore He will fight to keep you and not lose you to sin through whatever means possible in accordance to the purpose He has written for you. Like a husband who fights to keep his wife from leaving him, God fights for you as well. Through your agreement and faith that involves some waiting that God will do what He says and He will fight for you in order to keep you as His cherished bride. Therefore when Jesus says He will fight for you, He is actually saying “I will fight to hold on to you, so that Satan cannot possess you as his own. I will fight to keep you so that I will not lose you.” If we picture a person with Satan pulling his or her feet while Jesus is pulling on the other end by pulling their arms, you have a tug of war. While Jesus is pulling to keep you His own, He is ‘fighting for you.’ The only way we can lose in this tug of war is if we choose to bear our weight on Satan’s side. Therefore, pray that Jesus will not let you go and that you will hang onto Him with all your might. Pray that He will not lose you to Satan. No only will Christ answer that prayer, but you will know in fact that this is the actual real time depiction of what it means to have Jesus not only as your Lord, but also your own personal Savior.
